Overview

Miramadrid 2 is an ambitious urban development project approved in May 2025 by the Paracuellos de Jarama City Council. Located northeast of Madrid, this new neighborhood aims to provide a balanced mix of residential housing, green spaces, and improved infrastructure to accommodate the growing population and enhance the quality of life for residents.

Key Features

  • Residential Units: The project plans to construct 7,200 housing units, with 50% designated as affordable housing to promote social inclusion and provide opportunities for first-time buyers and low-income families.
  • Green Spaces: Approximately 500,000 square meters will be allocated for green areas, including a central park that will serve as the neighborhood's focal point for recreation and community gatherings.
  • Fairground Area: A 50,000 square meter plot is reserved for a future fairground, intended to host cultural and recreational events for the community.

Infrastructure and Connectivity

To ensure seamless integration with the broader Madrid region, Miramadrid 2 will feature:
  • Ronda Norte and Ronda Sur: Two new ring roads designed to improve traffic flow and connect the neighborhood directly to major highways M-111, M-50, and M-115, facilitating access to Madrid-Barajas Airport and surrounding municipalities.
  • Public Transportation: Enhancements to existing public transport services are anticipated to accommodate the increased population and promote sustainable mobility options.

Additional Developments

The municipal government has also approved the construction of the Parque de las Cornisas, a 115,000 square meter park featuring themed playgrounds, a lake, a viewpoint, and sports areas. This project, with an investment of approximately €3.5 million, aims to provide residents with ample recreational facilities and green spaces.

Economic and Social Impact

Miramadrid 2 is expected to significantly boost the local economy by creating construction jobs and stimulating the housing market. The emphasis on affordable housing and green spaces reflects a commitment to sustainable and inclusive urban growth, aligning with broader regional development goals.
